How to find, read, and download eBooks from the library.

Searching for eBooks

What eBooks does the library have?

There are two main ways to search the Iwasaki Library collection for eBooks.

The Library Catalog lists resources owned by the library, like eBooks, books, DVDs, and streaming media. This is the best way to find a specific eBook by name. After searching, you can limit your search to eBooks by selecting the "eBook" filter under Format in the right hand menu, or click the "Available Online" box to include other online resources like eJournals and streaming videos.

EBSCO Multisearch allows you to search the catalog at the same time as all of the various databases the library subscribes to. If you're searching based on a subject, rather than a specific title, this is a good way to broaden your search to include Open Access books that aren't listed in the catalog as well as journal articles and more. However, because Multisearch casts such a wide net, it requires more careful filtering of results to find what you are looking for.

What if the library doesn't have what I'm looking for?

You may be able to get the eBook you need from another source, like Boston Public Library or Project Gutenberg.
