Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan is a service through which Emerson College faculty, students, and staff can borrow materials not owned by the Iwasaki Library from partner libraries and institutions

 

 

  • Use your Emerson email credentials to sign in.
  • Emerson students, faculty, and staff may submit a maximum of 5 requests per day. 
  • Please submit requests in order of priority.
  • Ebooks cannot be loaned or borrowed at this time. You can submit requests for a single chapter of an ebook.
  • You can check the status of your request at any time. If you are not contacted within four weeks, please reach out. Otherwise please assume that your request is in process.

Request Items from FLO Libraries

Request items from a shared catalog of Fenway Library Organization (FLO): Emmanuel College, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, New England College of Optometry, Simmons University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology

  1. Find something in the FLO catalog you want? Select Request for that record. Only physical books can be requested at this time.
  2. If you are not already logged in, select your institution: Emerson
  3. Log in using your Emerson credentials (email address and password)
  4. Note that requests can take a week or more to fulfill. Confirm request
  5. You will receive an email when the item is ready to be picked up at the Service Desk. You can also login at the upper right to see the status of your request in your account

Request Items from CommonwealthCatalog

Request items from the shared CommonwealthCatalog (ComCat)

  1. Select Please Login at the upper right
  2. Select Your Library: type emerson
  3. What type of user are you? Select Patron, even if you are a staff member
  4. Wait! You do not need to enter your barcode. The webpage will redirect to log in with your Emerson credentials (email address and password)
  5. Search for the item you want to request. Select the format (Book, DVD, etc) to view the item's record
  6. Note that requests can take a week or more to fulfill. Select Request This Item on the left, under the cover image
  7. Don't change your email address. Submit
  8. You will receive an email when the item is ready to be picked up at the Service Desk. You can also login at the upper right to cancel or see the status of your request in your account
