Requesting a Ballot

• Absence from the county is a valid reason:  https://www.sos.mo.gov/CMSImages/ElectionGoVoteMissouri/AbsenteeBallotRequestForm.pdf
• Mail your application to your county election official:  https://www.sos.mo.gov/elections/govotemissouri/localelectionauthority
• Picture ID needed for those who are first time voters or who registered by mail (safest bet is to include it).  Here is the list of acceptable IDs:
  • A nonexpired Missouri driver or non-driver license;
  • A nonexpired military ID, including a veteran’s ID card;
  • A nonexpired United States passport; or
  • Another photo ID issued by the United States or the state of Missouri which is either not expired or expired after the date of the most recent general election.

Voting

• PLEASE NOTE!  YOU MUST HAVE YOUR BALLOT NOTARIZED! If you are a member of the Emerson community, see this list of public notaries on campus to set up an appointment. You must sign in front of the notary.

• Your signature needs to match the signature on file with the state (e.g. if you use a middle initial or not)

• Must be RECEIVED by Election day, contact your local official to find out if you can deliver by hand: https://www.sos.mo.gov/elections/govotemissouri/localelectionauthority
