Learning Outcomes

B.S. in Marketing Communication

Students will:

  1. COLLABORATION & DEIB: Collaborate effectively, responsibly and respectfully with a conscious focus on diversity, inclusion, equity, belonging, and sustainability in a dynamic society.
  2. ANALYTICAL SKILLS: Analyze complex situations and apply appropriate technical skills, media, and methods to make data-informed, strategic decisions.
  3. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: Effectively communicate, engage, and convey value across multiple channels by employing creativity, aesthetic intelligence, and empathy.
  4. CREATIVE THINKING: Employ creative problem-solving skills to design innovative messages and materials that use evidence-based storytelling to engage diverse audiences.
  5. MEDIA LITERACY: Demonstrate media literacy, including the ability to identify misinformation and bias, and knowledge of how to be responsible consumers and creators of media content.

B.A. in Business of Creative Enterprises

Students will:

  1. Employ ethical leadership & team management skills with a conscious focus on promoting diversity, inclusion, equity, belonging, and sustainability in a global society.
  2. Collaborate effectively, responsibly, and respectfully in a team.
  3. Effectively communicate, engage, and convey value across multiple channels by employing creativity, aesthetic intelligence, and empathy.
  4. Analyze complex situations and apply appropriate information, media, and methods to make strategic and evidence-based decisions. 
  5. Demonstrate media literacy, including, the ability to identify misinformation and bias, and knowledge of how to be responsible consumers and creators of media content

B.S. in Media Psychology

​​​​​​Students will:

  1. Apply core concepts and theoretical foundations of psychological science to understand complex interactions among human behaviors, media, and technology, including how media products are created, used, consumed, and shared

  2. Analyze the psychological and social impacts of media and technology on individuals, groups, societies, and cultures

  3. Use quantitative and qualitative research methods to analyze real-world issues

  4. Demonstrate competency in media, information, and digital literacies

  5. Develop effective creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills

  6. Integrate media psychology into the various fields of communication and the arts

  7. Address the ethical and social implications of media and technology, including issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

  8. Use media and technology effectively, sensitively, and inclusively to engage with local and global communities
